Oliver Plunkett was a Saint and a hero during the highly charged political times of the late 1600's in Ireland. He suffered greatly for God and never wavered for his cause. He was the last Roman Catholic Martyr to die in England and the first Irish Saint in almost 700 years. Saint Oliver was born in Ireland, was educated in Rome and then went back to Ireland to serve with his Catholic countrymen in a time of terrible strife, when Catholics and Protestants clashed. He was arrested on false charges and taken to London to endure a grossly unfair trail. He was found guilty and executed by being drawn and quartered.
