On a snowshoe excursion after a big snow east of town, I came across this scene that caught my eye. This was a canyon area between a highway and an old railroad grade that felt very isolated and quiet this winter day.
The cloud cover left the light very flat, but the brush had a warm glow contrasted against the snow. The area poking out under the bush felt protected and the snow like a blanket, thus the title, Under Cover.
